No Putlizer this year for fiction: does this make anyone else sad?

It makes me kind of sad. I like keeping up with the Pulitzer’s fiction list, as it always gives me new reading fodder. I guess 2012-13 is a catch-up year.

Not Since 1977: No Putlizer Awarded for Fiction

The books start arriving at the end of June, and over the course of the next six months, you receive about 300 books. And it’s like being part of the smallest, most intense book club in the world. You read as if it were you’re religion.

That quote doesn’t sum up anything in the interview. I just thought it was funny.
