Let it be said: The Stand by Stephen King is a great book. You’ll hear more about this Monday. However, let it also be said: it’s not exactly the most quotable book. Like most King, it’s plot-driven and fun, not deep and ponderous. I have, however, found you a quote from this glorious tome:
Rome wasn’t built in a day, nor Akron, Ohio, for that matter. The place didn’t matter.
The place where you made your stand never mattered. Only that you were there…and still on your feet.
Life was such a wheel that no man could stand upon it for long.
And it always, at the end, came round to the same place again.
